How It Works
Patients are searching on Google and other search engines for physicians, using certain keywords such as “dentist cape town”. Google keeps track of these searches and provides the amount of searches per month in Google Keyword Planner.
When someone searches any topic on Google, Google finds the best websites to provide the best content for the topic searched about. You can see the amount of websites that Google finds at the top of the results page. On the right hand side and at the top of the page are ad websites. Google gets paid for every click on these ads, which is why Google suggests these websites first. The rest of the websites on the page are the best websites that Google could find for the topic searched. In other words, these are websites that are suggested free of charge (called organic search results). People that search on Google very rarely go to the second page to find a website and usually click on the first best-looking suggested website.
The amount of searches for certain keywords vary every month, but it is growing in South Africa, as more and more people are using the internet. The amount of searches for certain medical specialties also varies. See below. Keep in mind that these are NEW searches EVERY month. Now calculate: what is ONE new client worth to you? If your website (or Facebook page, or any other webpage) ranks on the first page of Google for searched keywords, ALL these searchers will find YOU!
